Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MetaTag (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CarCamp mobile application (the “App”), package name ee.metatag.carcamp. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Overview

CarCamp is an in-vehicle entertainment app that plays ambient fireplace-style videos. We do not require you to create an account in the App. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information stored on your device

The App stores the following locally on your device:

• App preferences (e.g. selected video, display brightness, layout settings)
• Downloaded video files cached for offline playback
• Premium / subscription status flags derived from Google Play

This data remains on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall the App.

2.2 Vehicle-related signals

On supported Android Automotive / car systems, the App may read vehicle properties through the Android Car API, such as:

• EV charging state (to show optional notifications when charging starts)
• Gear / powertrain selection (to adjust playback behavior while driving)

These signals are processed on the device. We do not use GPS or other location services, and we do not collect your geographic location.

2.3 Network and content delivery

When you download videos or check for updates, the App connects to our content servers (e.g. parkplay.ee) over the internet. Standard server logs may include your IP address, request time, user agent, and requested file names. We use this information only to deliver content and maintain service reliability.

2.4 Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive purchase tokens and entitlement status from Google to unlock premium content. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Google’s privacy policy applies to payment processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

2.5 Notifications

If you grant the notification permission, the App may show local notifications (for example, when EV charging is detected). Notification content is generated on the device.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and improve video playback and app features
• Cache content for offline use
• Verify premium access after a purchase
• Adapt behavior to vehicle state where supported
• Diagnose technical issues and protect against abuse

4. What We Do Not Collect

• Precise or coarse location (GPS)
• Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
• A dedicated user account or profile managed by us
• Third-party advertising or analytics SDK data (the App does not embed ad or analytics trackers)

5. Sharing of Information

We may share limited information only in these cases:

• Google Play — for billing, subscription management, and fraud prevention
• Service providers — hosting and content delivery necessary to operate the App
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety

We do not share your data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it (clear storage) or uninstall the App. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for operations and security, then deleted or aggregated.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights (EEA / UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under GDPR, including:

• Access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you
• Restriction or objection to certain processing
• Data portability where applicable
• Lodging a complaint with your local supervisory authority

Much of the App’s data is stored only on your device; you can delete it via system app settings. For other requests, contact us using the details below.

10. International Transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
